Grigio Alpi for a modern villa in Modena

A harmonious dialogue between volumes, light, and materials characterizes a newly built private villa in Modena. The residence, designed by eb studio – Architetto Enrico Bergamini, is organized into two compositional levels that intersect through a precise architectural language: a horizontal layout, defined by the material differentiation between the ground floor and the first floor, and a vertical dimension that manifests in a double-height interior space, the heart of the distribution of the rooms.

A key element of the project is the Grigio Alpi by Grassi Pietre, a variant of the Pietra di Vicenza with a light gray tone, and macrofossils, which provides the architecture with timeless elegance and strong visual continuity between indoor and outdoor spaces.
On the outside, the stone clads the facades with a ventilated cladding system made of 3 cm thick slabs, a technological solution that combines aesthetics and performance: the cladding not only emphasizes the formal simplicity of the building but also ensures thermal efficiency, breathability, and eliminates condensation and humidity issues.
Indoors, the flooring conists of honed Grigio Alpi tiles in a 40×80×2 cm cut to size, amplifying the perception of material continuity. The same material extends to the bathrooms, where 2cm-thick material covers the surfaces, emphasizing the harmony of the design.

Finally, a large monolithic staircase connects the levels of the villa: entirely made of Grigio Alpi, it features a mitred joint system between the tread and riser for a seamless effect, transforming it into a true architectural sculpture, a distinctive feature that amplifies the material character of the design.
