Casa Sali: material elegance and architectural rigor

Pure geometries and carefully balanced volumes shape Casa Sali, a residence designed by Zupelli Design Architettura to offer a synthesis of architectural rigor and material elegance. The villa, located around the italian city of Brescia, unfolds across three distinct yet seamlessly interconnected volumes: one dedicated to the living area, one to the sleeping quarters, and a lower central body that serves as a distributive and service core, orchestrating internal pathways with natural fluidity. The architectural composition plays on subtle contrasts: compact surfaces and essential lines are enhanced by a thoughtfully curated palette of materials. Resin cement used for wall finishes dialogues with wooden floors in neutral tones and stone-effect porcelain tiles in warm, natural hues. A material language that lends the spaces a sense of calm, balance, and intimacy. A key element of the project is light: present in every space, it is amplified by large openings that frame the landscape and create a continuous dialogue between inside and outside. The generous and airy living area opens onto a porch facing the pool, extending the interior outward toward the garden. Kitchen, pantry, and living room flow into one another as part of a seamless spatial continuum, where each element is custom-designed to blend discreetly into the architecture. The volume dedicated to the sleeping area houses bedrooms and bathrooms marked by understated elegance: refined finishes and bespoke furnishings define intimate and serene spaces, in continuity with the overall tone of the house. The interior design, also curated by ZDA, treats the home as a unified organism where furnishings, materials, and light interact with the architecture in a coherent and sophisticated language. Integrated cabinetry and concealed technical elements help maintain visual order and reinforce the formal clarity of the design. At Casa Sali, minimalism is never cold or abstract it is enriched with perceptual nuances and material details that evoke a deep sense of domestic warmth and refined contemporary living.
