Taiwan Design Week 2025: “Design Next” on stage

From 29 November to 7 December 2025, Taiwan Design Week (TDW) returns to Taipei for its third edition at Songshan Cultural and Creative Park, under the theme "Design Next".

Organized by Taiwan Design Research Institute, quasi-governmental entity that aims to promote and support national design development, this year, TDW looks at how design is changing—from focusing on the individual to caring for humanity and even the planet. The week will bring together leading voices, including Don Norman, Stephan Wensveen from Eindhoven University of Technology, and IASDR President Peter Lloyd, to discuss how design can shape a better future in areas like health, aging, sustainability, and digital life.

The nine-day event features IASDR 2025, -  International Association of Societies of Design Research - one of the world’s leading design research conferences, gathering over 500 experts from more than 40 countries. Hosted by TDRI and the Chinese Institute of Design, the conference presents six tracks and 500+ papers under the theme "Design Next", exploring how design evolves with AI, sustainability, and cultural change.

But TDW is not just about ideas—it’s about experiences. Visitors can enjoy the Golden Pin Design Exhibition, showcasing award-winning works across products, spaces, and communication – from the main Taiwan Design Award - and see how design connects innovation with culture. The Taiwan–Czech Design Forum will spotlight collaboration between Europe and Asia, featuring Czech designers in sustainable fashion. The Industry Tour invites participants to step inside companies and projects that are rethinking technology, sustainability, and public services through design. And to celebrate, the Gala Dinner offers an immersive evening blending Taiwanese flavors, art, and digital creativity.
