Spanish architect, Hector Ruiz Velazquez, presents this month his Ford Vignale exhibit at the 52nd edition of Casa Décor, Spain’s famed interior design show in Madrid. For the project, he imagined and semi-constructed a car on the fourth floor of the historic building, Calle de Antonio Maura, in the prestigious Madrilenian area, Barrio de Salamanca.
“With a small stand available (20m2), the main challenge was to make the place look larger, transporting visitors into the middle of a car factory. The installation takes the people on a journey between reality and dream, where a car appears to be floating on a production line. This was achieved by playing with light and mirrors. I wanted to create a truly unique and supernatural experience”, said Hector.
Neolith Estatuario was specified for the flooring and wall cladding of the installation, as its design and delicate grey veining on the white background helps opening up the room, and gives the illusion of a much wider space. Estatuario’s quality aesthetic also complemented the luxurious feel of the exhibit, establishing the project’s high-end credentials.
