Color Studio: soft tones and new formats

A painstaking design process and in-depth colour research has culminated in the release of the new COLOR STUDIO collection, which Porcelaingres, an eclectic brand belonging to the Iris Ceramica Group, will be previewing at Cersaie 2018.

The 8 soft and gentle tones - White, Sage, Powder, Night, Cream, Biscuit, Malt and Brown - are fully in line with this year’s design trends and combine both warm and cool hues, to create naturally elegant juxtapositions of colour that suit all types of living space, from traditional to modern.

COLOR STUDIO comes in a range of formats: in addition to the traditional 120x60cm60x60cm and 30x30cm tiles, which are soon to be complemented by a100x100cm format, the collection also includes mosaics, listels and other trim pieces in geometric shapes such as triangleslozengestrapeziums and rhombuses. All the sizes have a thickness of just 6mm, making the product ideal for use not only in floor and wall applications, but also for furnishing complements, opening up new avenues for continuity of design.

The new COLOR STUDIO colours also pair perfectly with the Porcelaingres’s flagship collections, which reinterpret premium wood, stone and concrete, or can be used on a MIX & MATCH basis.

To demonstrate the versatility and modularity of COLOR STUDIO, the company has formed a partnership with Hermann August Weizenegger, one of the founder-members of Design-Mai, which recently joined the “Best of German Interior Design” list.

The German designer developed a collection of six furnishing complements created using precious and lightweight metals, such as aluminium and brass, in which the ceramic coverings not only provide a backdrop for the settings, but also play a leading role in the installations. Matt porcelain tile is used to cover bathroom furnishings, shelves and bench-seats, and blends harmoniously with the iridescent highlights of the alloys. Weizenegger also designed an accent called LINEAR, which takes the form of slim metal strips to be laid vertically and horizontally between the COLOR STUDIO ceramic tiles, to create an opulent but sober effect that is reminiscent of Art Deco.
